Frequently Asked Questions
What does TFC believe?
Teens For Christ is a nondenominational youth ministry. We hold to the basic tenets of Biblical Christianity and invite you to read our Statement of Faith:
If you have questions about the Christian faith, we invite you to find out more on our page about Life in Christ.
What is TFC’s purpose in ministry?
TFC’s Mission Statement: Teens For Christ is dedicated to reaching teens with the gospel of Jesus Christ, helping them grow in the Lord, and guiding them as disciples for Jesus.
TFC’s Ministry Slogan: Ministering to and through America’s Youth!
At Teens For Christ, we want to both reach teens with the Gospel and see them grow in faith. Many youth ministries have these goals. One thing that makes TFC unique is that we also strive to put teens in positions where God is working through their lives, thus giving them a ministry of their own. You can learn more about the various programs that we run in pursuance of these goals on TFC's Ministries page.
With whom does TFC associate? Generally speaking, TFC works with churches and individuals who share our statement of faith, especially those who desire to share Christ with others and disciple believers in God’s Word.
Where does TFC run their programs?
Though we reach teens from a much broader area, Teens For Christ is located just off Interstate 94 in the St. Croix Valley which separates Minnesota and Wisconsin. Several of the ministry programs we run regularly involve teens from a roughly 100-mile radius of our ministry center in Hudson.
Depending on the TFC program they are participating in, teens may find themselves meeting in local homes (Weekly Bible Clubs), at different churches (Bible Quizzing), or in our Ministry Center (Conferences, Rallies, Missions Trip Trainings).
How is TFC funded?
The ministry of TFC is funded by individuals and families just like you who give generously for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Every staff member individually raises their own salary and ministry expenses. Our General Ministry fund is supported in the same way. We are tax-exempt under IRS guidelines for 501C3 organizations. All finances are raised locally, spent locally, and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Individuals, churches, and businesses who are blessed by our ministry give to meet the need. In addition, we do a few fundraising events each year. We encourage anyone interested in joining our mission through financial gifts to do so with joy and gladness, for we pray you will reap in the blessings we will share, when you imitate the generosity of our God. Make a donation today! We also welcome your partnership in prayer for TFC.
How is TFC governed?
Teens For Christ has an Executive Director and an unpaid Board of Directors from a variety of local churches. Each staff member is involved in several programs that fill their full or part time work hours. The unity of the staff is maintained through regular (weekly) staff meetings, and a passion for ministering to and through America’s youth.
How can I get involved in TFC? Who can participate?
Teens: Most of TFC’s programs are for teens in grades 6th – 12th. This starts with the summer before one goes into 6th grade and runs through the summer after completion of 12th grade. Contact Teens For Christ to find out about programs in which you may be interested or to get the contact information of the leader of a particular program. Any of our staff would love to help you get involved!
Adults: Many TFC events, like Bible Quizzing, utilize not only our staff members, but also numerous volunteers who make them possible. We welcome the participation of Christian adults who have an interest in positively impacting the lives of teens. Your lifestyle should be an example to youth of how to pursue Christ. We do require a background check of any adult involved with a Bible Club or overnight trip (Bible Quiz Nationals, Camp, etc.). We also have many "behind-the-scenes" volunteer opportunities.
